Welcome to our 3 and 4 Year Old Introductory Program

This program is designed to give your child an introduction to the wonderful game

of SOCCER. We keep it lively and exciting so that they have fun and yet learn at

the same time. The following are the basics that we want to teach your child so

that they can move on to our next level of play.

FLOW OF THE GAME - We start by teaching our players that the flow of the game

is back and forth between goals.

DEFENSE AND OFFENSE - We then begin teaching them the concept of Offense

and Defense through 1v1 competition. When 1 player has the ball and is moving

towards their goal to score, that is Offense. When 1 player does not have the ball

and is chasing the other player with the ball (even if they do not get the ball from

them) they are playing Defense.

TEAM PLAYING - We introduce them to the idea that they are not the only one that

is trying to score in their goal, but there is now someone else helping them - TEAM.

Also, they are not the only one trying to stop the other person from scoring, but

there is now someone else helping them - TEAM.

BOUNDARIES - We will teach them boundaries through "NEW BALL". The idea is that

when the ball goes out of bounds, we no longer play with that ball. We have to start

playing with the "NEW BALL" that the parent coach just placed in bounds again.

PROCESS - Parents have to remember that this is all a process that will take a few weeks.

But, it is always amazing how fast 3 and 4 year olds pick up new ideas.
